POC welcomes Ryder Hesjedal to the team

We are proud to welcome Ryder Hesjedal, 2012 Giro D’Italia champion, to our global athlete team. The first stage of Tour de France 2013 on Corsica did not only mark the start of the 100th Tour de France, it also represented the start of an exiting collaboration between Ryder Hesjedal, the 2012 Giro D’Italia champion and POC. Ryder will be using POC's eyewear and during the 213km stage between Porto Vecchio to Bastia, Hesjedal could be seen wearing our shades for the first time. – “I'm really excited to be working with POC. They bring style to safety and I am especially looking forward to the great things to come”, says Ryder Hesjedal. Last year, Hesjedal took a spectacular win at the Giro d’Italia, when he became the first Canadian to ever win the Giro. Ryder has also won stages at the Vuelta A España, Tour de France (TTT) and Tour Of California, not to mention top tens at classics like Liege-Bastogne-Liege and Amstel Gold. – “Ryder is a fantastic cyclist and we are really excited to be able to work closely with him. With his experience and input, he will be a huge asset in our development process, says Stefan Ytterborn”, POC CEO and Founder. In the end of April, we proudly announced Olympic cyclist Gustav Larsson as our first associated road bike athlete.
